Temporary bracing
Temporary bracing stabilises an ExoSett frame while it is being assembled, extended, altered or dismantled.
During these operations, parts of the frame may not yet have their full structural system in place. Columns, beams and frame nodes may therefore require additional restraint against movement, twisting or racking.
How it works
Temporary bracing may take the form of diagonal members, cables, props, ties or other removable supports. Its arrangement depends upon the stage of the work, the loads present and the construction method being used.
The bracing must remain in place until the relevant part of the frame is complete and able to resist the expected forces through its permanent structural system.
It may also be used when permanent bracing, lashings or other stabilising elements are temporarily removed during maintenance or reconfiguration.
Temporary bracing is part of the construction process rather than the completed building. It is removed once the structure has been checked and confirmed to be stable without it.
