Frame jig
A frame jig is a temporary installation device used to position and align the structural components of an ExoSett frame during assembly, extension or alteration.
The jig establishes the required geometry while frame nodes, columns, beams and other structural elements are brought into position and connected.
How it works
Depending upon the construction method, it may provide reference points, guides, temporary supports, clamps or adjustable restraints. These help maintain the correct spacing, level and alignment of the frame while permanent connections are completed.
A frame jig may be used to assemble an entire section of frame or to control the installation of individual components. It can also assist when adding floors, extending a building or replacing structural elements.
The jig carries only the temporary loads associated with the assembly process. Once the relevant part of the frame is complete, stable and able to support itself, the jig is released and removed.
Different frame geometries, component sizes and site conditions may require different jigs or adjustable configurations. A frame jig may also operate as part of a larger installation system alongside lifting and handling equipment.
The frame jig does not form part of the completed building.
