Accommodation frame

The accommodation frame is the primary load-bearing structure of an ExoSett building.

It forms a grid of structural cells into which accommodation modules can be inserted, supported, removed and replaced. Each module is carried independently by the frame rather than by the modules beneath it.

How it works

The frame is assembled from columns, beams and frame nodes. Together, these define the spaces occupied by accommodation modules and transfer building loads towards the foundations.

The frame remains structurally viable when some or all of its cells are empty. This allows individual modules to be installed, removed or replaced without dismantling the surrounding building.

This separation between structure and accommodation is central to ExoSett. The frame can remain in use while the modules—and therefore the purpose and arrangement of the building—change over time.
