Access bridge
An access bridge connects an accommodation cassette to the circulation system of an ExoSett building.
In many ExoSett buildings, walkways and stairs are carried by a separate service frame. The access bridge spans the gap between that frame and the entrance to the cassette.
How it works
The bridge provides a safe route for occupants while allowing the accommodation frame and service frame to remain structurally distinct. Depending upon the design, it may also carry local lighting, handrails, drainage or limited service connections.
Access bridges may vary in length, width and form according to the spacing between frames, the type of cassette and the accessibility requirements of the building.
They may be attached to frame nodes, to purpose-designed connection points, or to both frames. Their design must accommodate the expected movement and tolerances between the structures without obstructing the installation or removal of cassettes.
Because each bridge is associated with a defined cassette entrance, it can be installed, adjusted, removed or replaced as the arrangement of the building changes.
