Facade
The facade forms the external enclosure and visible face of an ExoSett building.
It protects the building from the weather and helps provide comfort, security, privacy and architectural character, while preserving a practical route for accommodation cassettes to be installed, removed and replaced.
How it works
The facade may be attached to the accommodation frame, the service frame, the accommodation cassettes or a separate supporting structure. It may use shared panels, cassette faces or a combination of both to form the building’s outer enclosure.
Where the facade stands in the path of a cassette, the relevant parts can be opened, detached or removed. Once the cassette exchange is complete, the facade is reinstated and its weather, fire, thermal, acoustic and security performance restored.
A cell that does not contain a cassette can be protected by a removable closure panel. This allows the building to remain safe and weather-resistant while leaving the cell available for future use.
The facade can also change independently over time. Panels, windows, balconies, shading and other external elements may be replaced or reconfigured without changing the underlying accommodation frame. See how a facade can evolve .
