Service route
A service route is a defined path through an ExoSett building for utilities such as water, waste, power, data, ventilation and other building services.
Service routes are commonly carried within the service frame, where pipes, cables and ducts can remain accessible without passing through accommodation cassettes or being concealed within structural elements.
How it works
The route may include horizontal runs along walkways, vertical risers between floors and connection points serving individual cassettes or shared facilities.
Its arrangement depends upon the services required, the size and use of the building, and the need to separate systems for safety, maintenance or environmental control.
Panels, guards or dedicated enclosures may protect the services while still allowing them to be inspected, maintained, replaced or extended.
Standardised connection points can allow cassettes to be added, removed or changed without extensive alteration to the main distribution systems.
By keeping services within defined and accessible routes, ExoSett reduces destructive access work and allows the building’s utilities to evolve alongside its accommodation.
